In 2008 I moved from Germany to Australia, the best decision of my life. On this blog you can find stories and photos about hiking in Tasmania and on the mainland, travelling, and life in Australia — my journey from Working Holiday to Permanent Residency.

I’m on the bus to Apollo Bay from where I will walk the Great Ocean Walk for the next 8 days.
The second part of my week in Melbourne was quite nice, I went to see the impressive National Gallery of Victoria, I went to the Melbourne Cricket Ground with my mate Frank to see AFL Hawthorn vs Cats, and I also organised a new phone and switched from Optus to Telstra, following constant call drops and data connection issues. With the new phone and better network I can now go online with my MacBook anytime using the data connection of my phone which is very nice. I also talked to some recruiters who had contacted me. Melbourne is such a great place, I can imagine living there, but I want to see some more of the country first.
After a great week in Melbourne I took the train to Geelong on Friday and spent the week with Frank and his awesome family. I organised food supplies for the walk and on Friday we went to a royal wedding party which was actually a lot of fun, people were great.
In Apollo Bay I will have lunch and then walk the first part. At the moment it is a bit rainy but nothing too bad. The weather forecast looked promising. I’m really looking forward to seeing wild koalas.
