The first weekend after I got my new camera I went for a walk to Knocklofty Reserve, about 3km from my place in the city. It’s a nice bushland reserve with a few walking tracks, lookouts and even wild animals.
It’s a really beautiful place for a relaxing Sunday afternoon walk and I’m sure I will go there again soon. There are quite a lot of things to see, from parrots to lizards, and even a pretty fat wallaby crossed my path. Unfortunately it was gone when I finally had my camera ready. I’m still missing a really good photo of a kangaroo or wallaby in the wild. I had excellent photos from my stay on Maria Island in February, but lost them all when my backpack and camera got stolen.
I was a bit surprised to see wallabies so close to the city, but that’s one of the reasons why I like it here. I live in the heart of Hobart’s city centre, but still I only need to walk for about 30 minutes up the road to see native bushland, wallabies and parrots which really contributes to the quality of life, I think.
