Weekend in the Grampians

After eight years in Australia finally one of my German relatives came to visit me here. My 13y old cousin flew to Australia all by himself to participate in a student exchange with a Melbourne boy and stay with his family for a couple of weeks over Easter.

Before he returned to Germany he stayed with me for a few days, and I thought long about how to give him a great Aussie experience. In the end we went camping in Halls Gap for a few days, the Grampians are one of my favourite places in Victoria – there’s an abundance of wildlife, great bushwalking tracks, plenty of lookouts, and when visiting from Melbourne it’s possible to drive via the Great Ocean Road (which we did on the way back).

During the three days we climbed up to the Pinnacle, did several short walks near Brambuk cultural centre, visited MacKenzie falls and checked out several of the lookout points.
